Boot Camp/Military Scavenger Hunt/Mission
Looking for an activity about 90 minutes in length. Will have 4 groups of kids split up into Army, Navy, Marines, & Air Force with about 25-30 kids in each group. Our theme for the weekend is Boot Camp so I was trying to think of a theme related scavenger hunt or some time of "Special Ops Mission" for them to participate in. Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of maybe putting the pieces of a tent around the camp and have them use orientering type skills to find the piece and at the same time prevent being "caught" by the other groups.

Capture the flag at night. They can have flashlights, maps, and run recon.
The most fun I ever had at camp when I was one of the kids was this activity.

Camoflague - you have one person standing at base. Everyone else goes and hides behind trees - the person at base gives them to the count of 30 to hide. Then from were they are standing they have to see how many campers they can see. Once they have spotted everyone they can from that spot. they close their eyes and count to 10 and everyone moves a little closer, and the seeker calls out those s/he can see, this is repeated until either everyone is caugh so or someone manages to get close enought to tag the person on the base.

you could do 4 smaller challenges in that time and rotate the groups doing each activity and make it a contest at the end of time. Eg one challenge could be to get them to build something from natural resources that floats for a certain amount of time etc or make it bigger, give them wood and tires and rope and they have to make raft for a certain amount of team members to get across whatever water... another challenge could be todo with flight for eg throwing competition, having to get a certain item the furtherst you know...
I like these ideas! Camouflage is great fun ![]()
