What are some good camp books out there? I've read the book Camp by Michael Eisner. Very good book.

camp by michael eisner was great, i agree...there are actually sooo many books written about camp.
-sleepaway by laurie susan kahn
-sleepaway by eric simonoff
and for kids, there are TONS!
-the "camp confidential" series- i think there are something like 11 or 12 books
-there's a bat in bunk 5- paula danziger
-there's a baby sitters book where they go to camp lol
-and a boxcar children one.
most kids' series have at least a book or 2 about camp, but the "camp confidential" ones are AMAZING.

i almost forgot one of my favorites...
-The JAP chronicles- its about these 4 grown sisters who go back to their camp for a reunion and find out what has happened to their bunkmates between the time they were at camp and the present...it's really cool!

I don't have any books about "camp" per se, but I have a ton of reccs for people looking for books about working with kids.
The bully, the bullied and the bystander by Barbara Coloroso comes to mind. If you wnt more titles, let me know!

Has anyone ever heard of using "Tribes - A new way of learning and being together" by Jeanne Gibbs in a camp setting? I'm intrigued after hearing/seeing it used in elementary and middle school classrooms about how it could be adapted for camp...

The Acorn People by Ron Jones
excellent book, even though it's a school level book
It's about this guy who goes to work at a camp with disabled kids, and he's anticipating regular camp activities and such. He realizes that the kids cannot do anything for themselves, and gets very discouraged. Later, he finds out that they can do anything that regular kids can do.
