I've been working on the site a lot these past couple of days. Some changes you'll notice:
Separated the navigation bar at the top of the page into two: the top for site links, the bottom for camp-related site links.
After receiving some requests, I separated the Boy Scout and Girl Scout forums.
I added a Camp Survey (http://talkcamp.com/survey.php) to the site, which will always be open.
I also added a Camp Resources Links Directory (http://talkcamp.com/directory) to the site. Feel free to add any URL's you know of to the appropriate category.Also, there are contests going on right now as well.
As you know the Article Contest #1 is taking place right now. Please submit your articles! You receive Karma if you win.
Another contest that is taking place (an announcement isn't made about it though) is the Story Contest. Create threads and post stories about camp. The winners will get Karma.Some other reminders:
Post threads. The more threads we get, the more fun we can have. Don't be afraid to post.
Get your friends to join. The more people we have posting here, the better this place will be. Also, you get 100 Karma points for every member you refer.That's about it for now. Hopefully this update will give you an idea of where we are right now. If you have any suggestions to make the site better, please post them! I'm always open to suggestions. I'm also going to be on the lookout for prospective staff members. I'm not hiring staff as of yet, but I'm watching all of the members and thinking about who would be best for moderators, writers, etc.
