Constant whining, complaining tattle taling esp. to get attention

Hi.. My name is Srujana.. I work at a day camp with six and seven year olds.. and there is a boy who constantly complkains and tattletales.. any suggestions on how to deak with it?

Hey Srujana! Welcome to the site :) . I have a couple kids like that in my bunk. Usually if they tattletale we just deal with the situation because we'd rather they tell us what happened then try to work it out on their own (which would most likely be physically). If it's starting to annoy you, perhaps you could try telling him that telling on other kids for every little thing they do is not good. If they do something really bad, then it's okay to tell on them, but don't tell on them if they do something little.

As for the complaining, I think it depends on what they're complaining about. If it's about another camper, deal with that camper. If it's about a particular activity, try to figure out what's wrong with the activity. If he's just a kid who complains about everything, I guess you just have to put up with it.
