This place needs a little activity while everyone's away at camp. So I'll tell you all about our late stay last night (don't forget I work at a day camp).
Last night was the late stay for the 7-year-olds. Only one kid from our bunk didn’t go. After I walked him to his bus, all the bunks went to the pool. We played some games there, went to the Splash Park, and had some free swim.
After the kids who had to get changed, got changed, we went to dinner. It was pretty good, better than last year’s dinner. The camp ordered in pizza and we also got soda. I had to eat in the nurse’s office because one of our kids has a peanut allergy so he had to eat there too. I didn’t mind though. Mainly because the nurse who was staying for the late stay kept her kids with her, one who was in my bunk two summers ago. (He also happens to be my favorite camper.) So it was nice to get to talk with him more than just a pass-by during the day.
Anyway, after dinner we went to the buses to go to the skating/sports center. On the way there I sat with two kids from my bunk. During the trip, the kid who asked me to sit with him and his friend said that the reason he wanted me and the other kid to sit with him was because we are his favorite people in the bunk. Well that was nice to hear.
The time at the skating center was fun. I got to meet a few more parents, which is always good. After a little while I decided to go skating. That was fun. I skated with some of my kids, as well as my friend Steve. When I was done skating I watched some of the kids play soccer. Then I got permission to leave, so that’s what I did.
Overall it was pretty fun. A lot better than last year’s late stay in my opinion.
