I'm a writer/editor for the nonprofit Josephson Institute of Ethics in Los Angeles. I'm doing an article for our July e-newsletter on character-education summer camps and am seeking individuals who have organized or counseled at such a camp. Below are the questions I need answers for. If anyone has experience with this new trend of summer camping, we would appreciate any info you can provide. Responders' comments we use will be attributed in the article. Thank you!
1. Your name and title.
2. History of your camp, when and how it came about.
3. Why did you decide to specialize your camp's activities around character-education?
4. Which activities have been the most popular and effective, and why?
5. What are your most unforgettable moments from your camps?
6. What particular challenges are there in putting on a character-themed summer camp that other camps don’t face?
7. For new camp organizers who are considering creating a character-themed camp, what are some dos and don’ts?
8. What is the future of character-themed summer camps, and how do you see them evolving in the future?
