I'm not sure who got the newsletter. For some reason our mail server hates sending out mass e-mails. So if you didn't get it, it's here (along with the article).

I'd like to thank and congratulate the Talk Camp members on helping us reach 10,000 posts! This is a huge milestone and couldn't have been reached without you.

NEW FORUMS
-----------------------
There were two new forum additions this past month: Specialty Camps and Off to Camp. The speciality camps forum is for camp staff who work at camps that have a specific theme (band, computers, art, etc.). The "Off to Camp" forum, located under the Introductions forum, is where you can post your goodbye message before leaving for camp (if you're an overnighter) or if you just feel like telling everyone you're starting your first day at camp this season (for the day camp people).

FOR THOSE HEADING TO CAMP THIS MONTH
-----------------------
If you're heading off to camp this month, be sure to let your co-counselors know about our site! We grew a lot during this off-season, and I'm sure we can grow even more next off-season! So please just let the other staff at your camp know about our site. I'm sure they'll appreciate it too. Also, I understand that you probably won't have time to visit the site during the summer. Don't feel that you need to visit. If you decide to stop by and say hello, that's great, but don't feel that it's necessary. Enjoy yourselves!

Letters from Camp IX
Letters from Camp is a series of fictional letters from 'Camper', an eleven-year-old writing home to his parents about his first summer at camp. He is in the youngest unit, aged between 10-12 years old.
Mom,
I might surprise you when I see you in just over a week, Adam, one of the other campers, got sent some hair color in a can, in the mail today. He got bright green and blue, and we all got different patterns in our hair. Ann, another counselor got half her hair green and half blue –she looked like a witch! Now everyone on camp knows who we are, and asks us where they could get some! We got to spray what we wanted, so I got spots and stripes like the flag. It might wash out in the lake though, so you might not get to see it.
I was also in the dance this Friday. We have one every Friday, and we did a cowboy dance, with Nicki from B6 and Unit Leader Pete leading. It was kind of scary, because I was really worried beforehand, but everyone cheered us on, which helped a lot! We all took a bow, and one of the other Unit Leaders, who was doing the announcements, said we were really good.
It’s really strange to think how much I wanted to come home at the start, but now I don’t want it to end!
Camper
Letters from Camp is based at Summit Camp, Pennsylvania. Summit is a camp for children with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties, such as ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome, or juvenile on-set bi-polar disorder, and has a no-sugar food policy.
