Love. Lots of love. And candy. And a happy, soft teddy bear to keep me company at night. But mainly love.

Uhhhh... since our camp doesnt allow the campers to have food in the cabins, i wouldnt send food, but i would want some magazines, maybe a cool new card game to play with the cabin, some more bug spray, some new sunglasses, and a new camp journal, oh, and also 10 pillowcases, for the whole cabin to have and 10 sharpies to sign them with. Ahhhhh, camp memories, ya gotta love 'em!!

oh man, to get care packages at all is super exciting... but to pick what goes into them?!? that right there- is justice served.
markers, fresh playing cards (they get nasty after a few weeks at camp), exciting (fresh) soap, smores stuffs (to keep for counselor use only), a clean towel, a good book, cd's of what's been on the radio since you left for camp, candy, homemade baked goods, new socks, silly pictures of what's going on at home, stamps... handwritten letters, more candy... movies... big cash money from doting parents (not that it ever happens, but if i'm going to dream, i might as well dream big...)
a fresh pillow, more socks, more candy... AA batteries. :o

ooo my mom is good at sending care packages to me at school...she especially likes to make sure there themed around the current season or current holiday. My care package would probably include sunscreen, jelly belly's, something care-bear related, bug spray, lotion, aloe (yes aloe is very exciting for me to receive...trust me I left it at home and got sunbruned at school) and of course socks (my mom sends me socks at school....my room or maybe by three roomies eat them) also it would have plenty of things based around summer camp, girl scouts, summer or fourth of july

my parents send the most random care packages... last year when I was away at school, i got newspaper clippings about random things, gum and a gift certificate to shoppers drug mart.
hopefully this summer my parents will send me magazines, cds, pictures from the digital camera and maybe some lip stuff...

I usually get a package once or twice a summer, definitely for my birthday. I usually get a new tee-shirt and some English Chocolate!!
I like getting letters in my package, as well as photos (got the nicest one of my little sis at her prom last year), my dad graduates this year, so hopefully I'll get one of him to put on my wall! I also like to be sent stuff I forget: usually my swimming goggles!
Camper: yeahhh for woodbury commons!! :D

My dad went back to uni three years ago, and has his graduation in July: he's now a nurse in a Neurology ward, and will be getting his nursing diploma!

My mom sent the best care packages ever the summer. I got ones with newspapers and big turk bars (which are not in the US), boxes of food/candy you only find at home (peppermint knobs, jam jams). I got sent a pair of socks with maple leafs on them, pez, magazines, books, writing stuff, lots of great stuff! And for my birthday mom and dad ordered cookies for me online and got them sent down.
Oh, and Simon, my favorite part of English counsellors care packages is the chocolate their families send!

Thanks Eric!
Sparkes- That is because our chocolate is supreme! I want to see if I can get my mum to send me some Lindt chocolate this year (Belgian), because I think that's the best I've ever tasted!
What's the weirdest thing you've ever had in a package?
Mine would have to be something I ordered on amazon.com: a voice recorder for my dissertation, because it's cheaper over your side of the pond!
ThanksALatte

I love care packages!!!! I think I've only gotten like one from my parents. The rest are from friends or my brother. At camp, I'd like gum, markers, notecards, pens (since I always either lose mine or lend them out to never be seen again), handwritten notes, burts bees lip stuff (since I ALWAYS wash or lose mine), coffee and anything else random that would make me smile. :)
The best one I've ever gotten, hands down, would be the one my brother and sister in law sent to me last year at college...had so much random stuff that was totally "them" but "me" at the same time!!

Well the day before the kids came i lost this necklace i bought from target, an beleive me i looked every where an still couldn't find it so i called home an asked if my mom if they had another one as it was a cheap necklace ..i was just mad i lost it....any way she looked, found it ,an mailed it all in the same day(plus mailed me a set of 6 underglaze pencils for ceramics)...so 3 an a 1/2 weeks go buy an i had not seen the package an i even went to target on my day off but they didn't the same one , an then when it finally arrived i was so excited that it finally gat there. My campers an co-counselors were then confused that i was so excited for pencils and a necklace but i was just happy it finally arrived even if it was late.

Yay for care packages! I only live 30 minutes away from camp, so i don't get many care packages. I did get one last summer though that was filled with construction paper, markers, lemonheads, twizzlers, and notes! It was so much fun :)
My perfect care package though would have a lot of chapstick, some magazines, a lot of lemonheads, gatorades, batteries, and possibly pictures!

Ya I live like 45 minutes from camp so my parents don't send stuff. Last summer I got some cookies from the lifegaurd the previous summer... it was very exciting.

I live about... 6 minutes away from camp. So my parents didn't send anything to me. I had one friend who lives near me/camp send me an envelope of cut out pictures from magazines of hot guys. That made me laugh. My cousin also sent me a letter with pencil crayon pictures all over it. And another friend who sent me a watercolour painting of a deer, along with 3 POGS, a button, and a dead flower. I have a friend this summer, who lives too far away, who won't be at camp this summer, so we're sending each other mail.
Good tip: Keep mail PERSONAL. When I'm at camp, I don't think about my friends, because I have no freaking time to. So when I get crazy mail that reminds me of you, or of the good times we have together - that ROCKS. And junk food. Junk food rocks, too.

I live about 50 minutes away from camp, but my friends and family make it a point to send random things occasionally because of a weird tradition: counselors getting packages get thrown in the lake. I remember getting thrown in over cookies, and, weirdly, a toy worm from a gumball machine.
I second prettysocks! The randomer, the better: my favorite package ever contained a blue spoon, tiny green pinwheel, shiny rock, and other small toys. It was much more personal than anything else.
A care package, whatever else it contains, should have some form of chocolate in it. Always!
