Hello All

I am a freelance camp recruiter who is trying to find career work as a recruiter for camping. I am hopeful that someone may be able to lead me in the right direction?

Personally, i don't think it's really possible to recruit for a camp that you don't work for.

Actually,
I have been working quite successfully for the past three years freelance recruiting. i have helped hire over 800 staff members in the past three seasons. As a seasoned camp director recruiting can be quite lucritive...

You recruit staff?
I know of lots of people who recruit campers to camps. Their all independent from camps. We use a couple of groups extensively at our camp.

wow... recruit campers? LOL we have our kids recommended by their social workers... I guess that's one of the (many) differences between a community services camp and everyone else :P

we use several camp referral services to refer campers. i would say i've seen referrals from about 5 or 6 different services.

I have worked for non-profit camps, private camps, camp that were home to wards of the state, juvenille detention camps, and most recently teen boot camp. I have been a director for many years. I have worked with several camper recruiters, its a really good system. Currently, I am running a freelance recruiting firm out of Bolder, Colorado that recruites specialty counselors and staff for the adventure industry, I.E. camps, raft companies, cruise lines, etc.

In todays day an age of modern summer camping, there is a high demand for specialty staffing. If interested in learning more...just feel free to ask.

I'm interested! What kind of camps were you a director at? Why did you decide to go into recruiting?

I'm applying to be an interviewer for Camp America in the UK, cos it's lots of fun, so maybe you could work with their, or BUNAC's partners in the US?

I have directed YMCA, 4-H, Private, and Troubled youth camps. I went into recruiting because i was tired of the poor quality staffing that I saw happening in the industry. I wanted to help improve the game so to say...

Additionally, I have a strong background in theatre directing, and two degrees in both theatre education and directing. I use my skills as a director, along with those of a recruiter to help find THE most qualified staff around...

That sounds really interesting, are you in contact with overseas partners at all, they might be good contacts to make.
