Ok I'm not exactly good at intros but ill try. This past summer was my first as a counselor but i feel like ive been one forever. Before I was a CIT for 3 summers and a camper for god knows how long before that (all at the same camp). and of course im going back next summer. The camp is located in NC and has both an overnight and day camp program. i work in the overnight section. its also a 4-H camp. Camp is my home and everyone knows it but doesnt seem to completely understand it unless they have actually worked at a camp. im so glad to find another counselor form. it makes camp seem closer...though it can make me miss it more too! Well im going to go check out the other areas around here. talk to yall soon!

Hey rockinsmiles! Welcome to the site :) . And I agree with you that no one really knows how being a camp counselor changes your life unless they experience it for themselves. I always talk to my friends about camp, and they think I'm nuts how I obsess over working at camp. I tell them that if they were to work at camp for just one summer, they'd understand how I feel.
