How many days left do you have

I know alot of us have counters in our signitures but i was wondering how early are people going up to their camps. I have as of this moment just over a month till i start precamp work. and just over 2 months till the camp session starts.

tomany days if you ask me. I was saposed to go up to camp on the 11th of May but might end up going before that because of transportation issues.

68 days. I'm missing staff training and the first week though... so really, it starts earlier than that but just not for me. Most of my camp friends I working precamp and I'm jelous.

The number in my signiture is the number to pre-camp... Add about 10 days and that's the number until the campers get there.

The countdown in my signature is for when I leave for camp - but I'm actually visiting a friend for a few days before heading to camp... I'll be at camp in 58 days, and pre-camp starts in 64 days, so the first campers will be there in... around 74 days.

Well my first meeting is in the beginning of June. Then there's nothing going on until the weekend before camp. We meet the campers on Sunday (the 25th) and camp starts Monday June 26th! :D So that gives me about 75 days until the first day of camp.

I start part-time (doing supply ordering) in mid to late May. The activity and unit head meeting is on June 17th, and then I'm up at camp every day preparing for pre-camp which starts on the 24th.

We had our first staff meeting last month and have about 5 more planned before the start of camp. As staff is hired they start attending the meetings. After that graduation is on the 27th, TSSEC 28-30, staff training starts on the 5th, I leave on the 8th because my family is chartering a bus to come down for a graduation party, I go back the 11th and the campers come the same day, I leave with that group to go canoeing and rock climbing on the 13th, we come back the 17th, my next group comes in on the 18th, we leave to go canoeing again on the 21st and come back the 24th, my next group comes in the 25th and that's just a normal session. Wow. Sorry for the massive run on... i'm tired just thinking of all of it!

Only a month!?! That's soo not fair!

I've got ten weeks till I fly out and I'm hoping to see if I can catch the bus from Port Authority the same day, so I don't have to pay for a night at the hostel. I can't wait!

Collis I thought bunac/whatever pays for a night at a hostel for you when you first get in NY? Oh, and Bonanza Bus runs like, all over the country from PA and its super cheap. www.bonanzabus.com

Not if you go own arranger, which I am this year, only if BUNAC organise everything for you. There's a bus to Honesdale till 4pm, so I should be able to get there OK, but it all depends on immigration!! Plus I want to get to camp as soon as possible :D

7 days, 1 hour, and 33 minutes until the tents start going up at camp.

70 days, 4 hours, and 32 minutes until pre-camp officially begins.

I wish my friends could understand how exciting camp is! I'll randomly say how many days I have left and they just look at me like i'm deranged. Oooh I wish it was time to go to camp!

Don't worry Kiwi: mine either! I've stopped talking about it as much as I did cos they just don't get it... I think there's a cultural difference there as well, because they don't know why I would want to go all that way to look after kids!

Speaking of leaving date - would your camp mind if you showed up a few days before you were supposed to? There's a huge price difference in flights from the Sunday I leave on from the Thursday I'm thinking about flying out on.

If there is a problem, sparkes, you could always stay in a hostel for a night or two, and then get picked up from the closest city.

most camps hope for staff to show up early my camp just wants to be informed before you arrive so they can arrange a ride

I don't think they'd mind at all Sparkes... I'm kinda hoping I can come a day early myself! They might even put you to work with maintenance jobs :D

Oh, they will. I'm going for pre-season anyways to be a slave, so it'll just be a few extra early days I guess! Otherwise, I guess I'll hang out in Hartford for a day or two...? Yeah Connecticut!

Not soon enough. 20 days until I go to camp and stay there. I will be be making several trips before that for setting up and a Wilderness first aid course.

Depending on if I get accepted into an LIT program I have about 73, it not it's a much longer wait. =( Camp can't come soon enough.

We (the paid staff) have to be there May 22nd, CITs get there the 28th, and campers get there the 29th. I'm so flippin excited!

Im done with school! now its vacation time, then a week to pack and then go to camp!!

Vacation what that? lol. I still take dance ballet, tap so I can't go away as the recitals are right before the day camp I work at starts.
