I guess i am lucky that it isn't expected of me!
But for those who chose not to make the pledge for relgious reasons or cos they are international they should at least show respect to those who do make the pledge!

I never saw any of the internationals say the pledge. I would find it extremely odd if I did though.

I live about an hour drive from Canada and I like to sign along with the Canadian national anthem whenever I hear it. It's a nice song and I don't mind singing it, but I would not pledge allegiance to their flag.
I can't see why anyone would expect a foreign national to pledge their flag, just show respect.

Sort of off the wall, i work at a GS camp most of the graces we use are already up here, but at our camp you have to do the Back of the Bread and Johnny Appleseed because the older campers (and staff that were campers, me) think that if you say rain in one grace you have to balance it out to keep it from raining. Not that actually does any good, but it's our interesting tradition.

Oooooh I never knew why everyone said Johnny Appleseed was suppose to bring rain. That makes sense!

Yeah, back when I first started going to my camp all the counselors replaced "rain" with "peanut butter" for everything, but it confused the campers, so now we either balance them out or clap instead of using the word.

Oh no! It looks like it is about to peanut butter! Hurry get out of the peanut butter and into the dining hall to dry off.
Yeah, that would be confusing.

Yeah, it was. It also lead to a lot of conversations about the food which just made the situation more confusing.
