Letters from Camp is a series (http://www.talkcamp.com/showthread.php?t=580) of fictional letters from 'Camper', an eleven-year-old writing home to his parents about his first summer at camp. He is in the youngest unit, aged between 10-12 years old.

Hi Mom,

Thanks for the package, and yes I did share all the little gifts with all my bunkmates. They enjoyed the little magic tricks, thanks very much.

I can’t wait to see you and Oma and Opa on Sunday –are you being any of the dogs? It’s going to a little strange too. Even though I thought these guys were a bit weird at first, I really grew to like them, and that they were my friends. Now, they’re all going home and only a few of them are staying the whole summer. I don’t think it will be as good the second half, though I hope it is.

I have so much to show you! I made a pot and some jewellery, and a shelf in Woodshop. We’re going to do a dance too! Pete and Nicki (who’s another counselor) made up this dance, and we get to wear sunglasses and cowboy hats –just you wait!

I have to go now, we’re about to go practice, I can’t wait to show you!

Camper

Letters from Camp is based at Summit Camp, Pennsylvania. Summit is a camp for children with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties, such as ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome, or juvenile on-set bi-polar disorder, and has a no-sugar food policy.

Coll, does this mean this is the last letter? Or is another 'camper' going to pop out of the woodwork?

Also, kinda off topic but I found this book online, and you might want to take a look at it - it looks quite relevant to your "field" ...

I can tell you this is not the last letter. I'm not sure how many more there are, collissimon will have to answer that question. But I can say there will be at least one more.

This is halfway through, so there are three or four more... We have a Parent's Day, where those who are going home get taken home, and those who are staying get to show their parents what they've done.

Camper is sad that all his friends are going home (because our sessions are four weeks, and there are two per season), but don't worry some more people are coming next session!

Thanks for the book recommendation, I'll definitely give that a look!
