Hi everyone =D
I've been reading some of the posts here, and it all seems very helpful, so I figured I'd register.
I'm currently waiting to hear back from a few camps about jobs- I have no experience as a counselor, but I'm hoping that I'll find one that'll hire me even with that in mind.

Jadyn - welcome to the boards.
Camps often hire people with no prior counselling experience. If you've ever worked with kids in any capacity (tutor, babysitter, teacher's helper, sports instructor, etc) then you're pretty qualified to be a camp counsellor. What you will learn at camp will only build on your prior experiences and knowledge.

Thanks for the welcome!
When applying, I mentioned that I have seven years of babysitting experience, so hopefully that'll help me out.

welcome! as long as you're enthusiastic about being a counselor and like kids, you should get hired.

Welcome to the site!
With that much baby-sitting experience it shows that you're committed to working with kids. I agree, you should get something :)

New England. I live in Massachusetts.. have to rely on my parents to get me to wherever I go. If I didn't have to worry about money, and I could, I'd love to work at a camp on the west coast, for something new.
