I have several weeks between the end of my camp and when school starts so naturally I'm looking to spend my extra time... at camp.

Does anyone know of any camps specializing in:
-HIV/AIDS
-Oncology
-Foster children

I'm looking for a camp that wants either paid or volunteer staff (in this situation I'm willing to take either). I also want a camp that you don't have to work all summer (I've seen a lot but none seem to be quite the right camp). The max I can work is probably 2 weeks because of my 10 week commitment at my regular camp.

If anyone has any recommendations for camps that are not HIV/AIDs, Oncology, or Foster I'm willing to hear them, but (I know this sounds bad) I'm not really looking for camps for children with physical disabilities because I honestly could not handle it (especially in terms of helping with lifting and moving, I'm really tiny and don't have a lot of strength lol). I'm also looking for camps that focus on children and not adults.

Sorry if I've got too many specifications but any recommendations would be appreciated!!

I know that there are some camps in Florida that work with foster care campers at the end of the summer. I am not sure what camps but I know that it's a big program down there. If I find out more information I will let you know.

Hole-in-the-Wall Gang Camp (http://www.holeinthewallgang.org) is located in Connecticutt and works with children and cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. We have 2 staff spending a week there before coming to pre-camp.

Camp Sunshine (www.campsunshine.org) is located in Maine and works with children with life-threatening illnesses. Several high schools in my area took groups of seniors there for a week during the summer to volunteer.

I've heard great things about both camps! I know they might not be in the area you are looking for, but hey, maybe they'll catch someone else's interest if you can't use them!

I know you said no physically disabled, but Easter Seals Woodeden in Ontario Canada would hire you as a volunteer for as many weeks as you wanted, when you wanted, and volunteers aren't allowed to do any of the bathing, lifting, dressing, bathrooming stuff - only feeding, i think pushing wheelchairs, and then your normal entertaining campers, etc. check out www.easterseals.org if you're interested (or.. anyone else)
