What's a spider?

More just being nosey than anything, but when I look at who's online it says members, guests and spiders... I got the members and guests part... but I don't know what a spider is.

"Spiders" are what the search engines use to "crawl" the website. All you really need to know about them is that they're bots for the search engines (that's why you'll see Google and Yahoo listed in the online list), and that the more we have, the better.

It's just the search engines looking at our website. :)
