You get a camp CD, cool! What's on it? Is it just the popular songs from your camp last summer?

skaterbubbles...our cd has our sings (group sing and color war sing) recorded live onto them. so it's us singing all of the new songs from the summer...our camp writes all of our own songs by taking "real" songs and changing the words. on group sing each group sings 3 songs, one from a previous summer, a new march, and a new cheer. then on color war sing each team sings 4 songs...a new march, a new alma mater, an old march, and a cheer. all of our songs are sung to piano and then we sing them at every meal for the rest of the summer to the piano. we don't really sing the songs that other camps sing. so on this cd are the 2005 sings recorded live from the sings. i'm soooo excited to get it!

Camper..Do all of your campers and staff get the CD? I was thinking about doing somthing like that for my staff and campers next summer.

campfriend- yes, all of our campers and staff get the cd. they'll give it out at the reunion in january, this is just a rough copy that my mom gets to edit and send back to the cd people. i'm lucky i get to hear it now! still don't have it though, i should get it tomorrow or saturday. i've actually heard of some day camps making a cd too...i don't know if you've ever heard of pierce day camp on long island, but they make a really cute cd and it's a great camp! and skaterbubbles- if you watch our promo video on our website www.campblueridge.com then click on new campers and families then video clip, you get a great taste of our spirit! we're one of the most spirited camps i know of haha but i'm biased!

dave- the camp store isn't our website haha if you click on it you'll see it's a link to our outfitter who makes all of our uniform clothes. since we're a completely uniform camp, we need a link for families to be able to buy all of the stuff. we don't have a store at camp to buy the stuff or anything. but yeah, i still think it's cool haha. i definitely recommend watching the promo video online! its only like 2 mins of the regular length one but its great!
campfriend- if you want i can im you clips of our cd online when i get it. just give me your screenname. and thanks for all of your compliments guys!!! haha
Oh. :slap: I just saw a link to the camp store and I assumed that it just sold camp clothes to buy for fun. Once again the saying about assuming held true...

thanks! the full length video is much better but thats just a taste of it. and dave- i guess you can buy the clothes for fun, we all do anyway, but most of the time it's parents buying the clothes for their kids.

That sounds ace camper! We get a DVD with the slideshows which are set to camp songs: someone takes pictures and little movies all summer, and then the IT staff put it on DVD for us, but ours doesn't get here till January!
Really random CDs at the moment: Bright Eyes, Nitin Sawhney (British Asian guy who does some really cool world music), Paul Weller, Lifehouse, Kaiser Chiefs...

ahhh the cd is amazinggg!!! it really sounds great. i felt like i was at camp listening to it, i called all of my camp friends and put them on speakerphone so they could hear it.
