Fill in the blank:
You know you work at camp when...
- you have a pair of sandals for every occasion, situation and event
- you own at least one article of clothing in every single possible colour - just in case

- You also have a Nalgene for every occasion, plus an extra in case your campers forget their water bottles.
- You are master of the lost and found, and thus have vastly expanded your collection of... stuff.
- You can identify every sound in the woods, from the little insects to the little campers creeping to the bathroom.
- You think about camp at least once a day.
- You have a whole separate set of clothing and supplies just for camp.
- You decide to be go into teaching or recreation because of camp.
- The thought of really leaving camp is physically painful to you.

You can just randomly break out into camp songs in the middle of winter
Your friends know the names of the people at camp even though theyve never met them
Your binders for school are filled with camp pictures so that when you are bored in class you can just look at the pictures and think about all the good times

This is more of a random story...
But walking down the hall in my residence hall today I was looking at myself in a mirror (it's at the very end of the hall). I just looked and was like, man, you can tell I'm a camp counselor. It's raining today-- so I have on my northface fleece, a baseball cap, jeans, and my old shoes that are for muddy days. I just felt camp counselorish.
Not sure if this has been mentioned already (it probably has), but I'll give it a shot anyway. This applies more to day camps too since, I'm assuming, more kids are from a local area with a day camp than with an overnight camp.
Anyway. You know you work at camp when, whenever you enter a public area, the first thing you do is scan the place to see if anyone from camp (or any campers) are there.

Yeah I do it, but always to no avail. Although, I was at the JCC one time and I saw three campers in the whole two hours I was there! Now I know where they're at all this time. :P
