Check out ACA's year round camp postings, you can have them emailed to you. http://www.acacamps.org/jobs/search.php

I know that my best friend who is a Camp Director works year round because when their is not summer camp there are always different groups coming up, I don't know what the salary is like but the benifits are pretty good, He works for a YMCA camp.

You're welcome, Ocean. I always read them even though I'm not looking for year round. There are always others looking! :)

The problem that you are going to face is that camps are looking for people with experience. Not to say that you don’t have that but it’s tough. I work for the YMCA and I know that when we are looking for new directors we start looking inside the YMCA. I think that most camps do that as well. I am also not sure what your resume looks like. That will be a big part of getting a full time job. If I were you I would try to work with a camp as an asst. Director for the summer and see if they have jobs year round. That will get you the experience that you need to get a director position. Starting camp directors make between $24,000 -$35,000 pending experience. Good luck with the search. If I can help any more let me know!

I am not looking for the job right this second. It's for in the future. I am just looking at career options, and I thought being a camp director would be a good one. I am going to have plenty of camp experience before I actually do become the director.

it depends. if you own the camp (a private camp) as well as direct it, you will be ROLLING in money assuming all goes well. and that is definitely a year-round job. someone has to do year-round work for camp. my mom's title is head counselor. it's a year round job, but she can do it from home and therefore she is a teacher also.

I think it's the best job that you can have. I love it! Good luck.

and Camper, My friend and I are talking about being coowners of a camp. Not really sure if it is a joke, or an actual plan yet.
