I know that we are all camp staff, There got to be some good ones.
This summer was my 20th birthday So we rented a house In big bear lake. we bot like 30 cases of beer. That night was fun we played strip poker, and this ball game that you try to though a ball in cup of beer when you did the other staff had to drink and many other games. right at 12Am we had some one shining a flash light in the back yard. It was the police. They told use that we all needed to shout down the party and go to bed. As good camp staff what do you think we did. We shout the door and parted harder. when we got up the next day it was so funny we all had hang overs peopel past out all over the place. when we got back to camp we all had Headaches and you know the camper they yelled and yelled. none of use would do that when we have to go back to camp the next day any more.

We're not allowed to drink on our night's off, we mostly have to return to camp that night, or if we stay at someone's house who lives near camp we have to be back before the morning bell the next night...
Drinking on our night out is grounds for dismissal. It's in our contracts; we're not to return to camp hung over either. Basically, if anything were to happen overnight and we were drunk; we wouldn't be able to fully deal with the situation at hand. Second of all, it's a camp for underprivileged inner city kids, so a lot of them have parents who are alcoholics and substance abusers. They deal with those situations enough at home; they shouldn't have to put up with it at camp as well.
However, on session breaks, particularly this past summer, a bunch of staff just hangs out non-stop. Unfortunately this year we didn't party too hard because well, we were all tired and sick as hell (hey, that's what camp does to ya!) but we still have fun...

Well, the day before camp started the AD took me on a tour of camp and drove the golf cart onto the beach to far. It took us over an hour to get it back up the hill - and we were banned from using it for the next six weeks. :) That really was obviously ALL her fault though - I was just the new staff there for the tour. Lol.

Even if we dont drink ecessively on our nights out we still have a blast. Usually we just go out to dinner and then on my nights out, since I live close to camp, myself and prolly about 4 other camp staff wil go back to my house and spend a night at home, shower, use the internet, watch tv and such. Although I do know there has been quite a few cases of ppl commin to camp after drinking, it was quite halarious.
The dumbest or funnest thing, I would have to say would be our breaks of 3 days between sessions when a bunch of us would get together in the city and just hang out. In my case it was pulling almost two all nighters with a fever of 102.3 and managing to go to camp the next day lol. My body will never let me forget doing that. Or, the one time I went to see a fellow camp counsellor do a fund-raiser for cancer and ended up spending ALL night at a stadium in almost below zero weather and the only warm place to sleep was on the bathroom floor so thats what me and a few others did while she ran. Weird I know, but all in good fun!

oh man i don't even know, we've done so much dumb stuff. people drink on time off, but if there's any hint that you're drunk when you come back to check in at curfew you're either going to get in trouble or be fired. people are really good at hiding it. i know that sounds terrible, but it's true. let me think of something dumb i did...i know there was some stuff haha.

Uh, well when it comes to drinking most of the staff get wasted on their 24hrs. off, but not on nights off, cause you can't leave camp. I don't drink, so I always had to find something else to do. Luckily I found another person who didn't drink either and we are now really good friends!! But anyway, one night when we were off but had to stay on camp my friend and I were sitting down by the fire in one of the villages. We heard a lot of noise coming from one of the other camps that is on the same mountains as ours. We listened to it and realized that it was music from a live band! So my friend and I decided to sneak off camp and go check out the other camp and the band that was playing. So we snuck off camp and we followed the music through the woods without a flashlight! Luckily we didn't trip or anything. We eventually got to the camp and we found the building that the music was coming from. We snuck around and into the building. We saw this band playing up on a stage in this gym and it was a christian band because it was a church camp. The band was called Sacred Kart. Anyway we acted casual and pretended like we were part of the youth group and we just tried to blend in. We went up to the front of the stage and listened to the music and totally blended in with the group. After about 5 minutes we figured we had better go before anyone realized we didn't belong. So we headed for the door and just passed it and we were so proud of how we had pulled it off when all of the sudden this lady called to us. She was like "are you guys part of the youth group?" and are minds were racing cause we didn't know what to say or anything when another lady came up behind the first one and said "oh, odn't worry about it they're with the band." We were like ya, and then we walked away and then we started running all the way back to our camp. By the time we got back it was curfew and we were exhausted. The next day somhow our camp director ahd found out what we did and he wasn't mad he actually laughed when we told him the whole story, but he told us not to leave camp again when we were not supposed to and also to stay away form that camp, (Pine Summit) cause they didn't like our camp much and they were always giving us problems. So ya that was the dumbest thing I did, but it wasn't really that dumb, it was funny!

Im not able to share lots of my stories. One of the funnier ones though, me and my ex were in the park in the town our camp is in. It was after 10 so we figured we were alone. So where making out in a pagoda in the park when a skunk walks past us. It ignores us, thank god. About 5 minutes later still laughing about the skunk we have a search light shined on us from a poilce car. At that point were standing there like deer in a head light we fled but i left my car keys and sandles in the pagoda. I had to then walk bearfoot to the police station (10 blocks) and explain to the ranking officer what we were doing there.

Oh there are so many...which one to share. Ok here is one. It was during one of our weekends and most of the staff had gone to a minior league baseball game. All except 6 of us. The problem was only 1 had a vehicle. So we pill into her 5 seater and go out to eat and to wal-mart (thats another story in itself). The person's car we were in was the lead horse instructor and on the way back to camp she remembers she needs to let the horses our into the pasture and if we can help. Well instead of just chasing the horses out of the pin she decides to chase after them in her car down the path...which i dont think anyone has tried. So one of the guys opens the gate for us and says he will just wait there. We drive down the path scarring the horse towards the pasture. Then there is another gate that needs to be opened to let the horses into the pasture. The thing is you have to cross a creak that has a board lade across it to get there. So one of the other guys (who isnt a big fan of horses) decides he will do it. Well as he is crossing the creak we turn of the head lights (yeah it was dark out) so it is pitch black. When we turn them back on he is mooning us. So he continues on his way and we decided to leave him. Not go all the way back to the pin but just a little ways up the path. We go up some distance and turn off the engine and lay down in the seats. Well he finds us and the horse instructor asks which gate he opens. He tells her and it is the wrong gate so she has to go back and open the right one. With some thinking she takes her keys with her. Of course while she is gone we are trying to think of a way to scare her. so we all get out of the car and one of the guys climbs onto of the roof while the rest of us get infront. all of the sudden the car alarm starts going off. she had activated it and made our plan back fire! so then two of the guys rode on top of the car while the other rode behind it and me and this other girl just hung out the windows. Sorry that was kind of long. it was a crazy night lets just say (we shot a bb gun later and that was crazy too!).

I don't often do stupid things on breaks... On my way back to camp from a night off once, I had the driver stop next to a nearby corn field so I could pick an ear of corn, though! It wasn't amazingly bad, just kind of silly.

at my old camp from when i was really young we had cliff jump- it was about a 20 foot +/- into the lake.
and at the camp i'm at now we have a zipline that is at least 35 feel up- the difference is obviously that we have the zip to hold on to and no one lets go before the touch the water or it kind of hurts your wrists.

Ok so I thought of another one...
Well one time during family camp we had the evening off from 8:00 until Midnight and if we didn't check in at midnight they would send a search party out after us and we would be in huge trouble!! So me and a friend of mine decided to drive into town and go to the mall and then drive to the movie theater and catch a movie. So I drove us down to the mall in my truck and then I turn the engine off and put my keys in my Camelbak-yes I brought my camelbak to the mall- So then I pick up my Camelbak and I realize that it is leaking so I took my cell phone and my wallet out of it and shut and locked the door. Then I realized that I locked my keys in the car. So me and my friend were locked out of my car so we started to panic because we were in the Prescott Mall parking lot and the only person with a spare key was my dad- and he was 100 miles away. So then we thought about it for awhile and then remembered that our camp director required us to give him a spare key to our cars-for situations like these- so I called my friend who was also off but she didn't answer her cell. Then we called the camp to see if someone could bring the spare key to us, but our camp director was out of town for teh week and teh lady who was in charge couldn't find the vault where the keys were! So we were stranded there for about an hour and a half and we didn't know what to do. Finally the male head counselor showed up and rescued us!! He had triple A so he called and lied and said that my Truck was his and so they called a Toe Truck and they came and opened the door and we drove back to camp just before Curfew. And from that point on I was always picked on and they would never let me forget that I locked my keys in my car!
