Our First Chat Event

We'll be having our first chat event soon! There are a few things you should know before this happens:

We really shouldn't have more than 20 people in the chat at one time. Now at this point I don't think this will be a problem, but just keep this in mind. If we do have a response larger than 20, we always have an IRC channel, which has an unlimited limit. We're at #talkcamp on irc.vbulletin-fans.com .
We need to set a date and time for this event, that is most convenient for everyone who wishes to participate. If you're interested in participating, please post what time and date is best for you!
This event won't have any specific topic. Just chat about whatever. Future events may have specific topics to discuss (camp-related, site-related, etc.). Also, we may have games and prizes in future events. Anything's possible.
Remember that all forum rules are still in effect in the chat. No flaming, spamming, etc. Give others a chance to post. Don't start fights. If you break the rules you can be kicked from the chat. Just keep this in mind.That's about it for now. So please post the time/date which would be best for you in this thread. Don't make it too soon, or too far away. Any times this weekend or next week are soon enough. Any times before that are too soon. Any times after that are too late. Don't worry if you can't make this. We'll always have more!

Also note that if we have more than 20 people interested, there are two possibilities: only the first twenty are invited, or we use our IRC channel (which has no limit on the number of people).

I did that but it tells me that my username and passwrod are incorrect.

Well that's strange. I can't figure out why you wouldn't be able to get in. What exactly happens when you try to log in? If there's an error, what does it say?

Yes that's what you're supposed to use. Your forum username and password for this forum. Also be sure to try the first log in button on top (where you don't have to enter in any info).

No it should work. I'm not sure why speed and myself are able to get in but no one else is.

I have a thout you are Admin and monderator, if i was a betting man only head staff of this web site can log in. you must of hit something saying that only you guys can do it

I think I've figured out what's going on. Apparantly the chat only looks at the default usergroups which come with vBulletin. Those include: admins, mods, guests, regular members (< 25 posts). I'm not sure how to get the custom usergroups to work though. If I can't get them to work we'll be out of luck.

I just tried and I had no trouble getting into the chat. I did notice that once you are logged into the chat you get logged out of the boards.

It might. But it's easier when the chat just uses the forum's user database. But there is an option where the forum and chat are totally separate. The only thing is that you'd have to register again (on the chat) to use the chat.

Okay I think I'm going to re-install the chat to work with the forums again. If it doesn't work, I'll install it where you have to register to it separately.

I'm free most days from about 7PM-whenever EST. The only day I wouldn't is every Wednesday when I have bowling.
