Going Back

Well I have now worked as day camp director for 2 years and I miss overnight camp so much. The other day I got a phone call from the Director of Camp for a large YMCA. They have three camps and they are looking for a new director for one of there camps. This would be a great move for me in my camping career and a big step up. My problem is that I love my boss that I am working for now, but like I said I miss overnight camp. I have sent in my resume for the new position and I hope that all of you can bring me some luck.

Well I just wanted to vent to some camp people to see what you all think? Who knows, by 2006 I might be back at an overnight camp!!

Thank You Flukie. I will let you all know how it's going. It's kind of funny that I will have to interview for the first time in a long time. I am the one who seems to be doing all the interviewing. I wonder what questions I will get?

So I had an interview today. I hope I get the chance to go back to overnight camp. I still have a great day camp if I don't get the job.

I couldn't imagine the tranistion from O/N ===> Day - although if you were new to it, I expect the transition from Day ===> O/N would be more troublesome due to the added hours, responsibility and full on intensity.

I feel the extra hours are not that much different. I work a lot a day camp right now.. I have done both and hope to get the chance to go back!

wow. i would love to be at an interview for camp haha its the best kind even though i have never personally experienced it...but what could be better? you get to talk about yourself AND camp at one time!

My interview is going to be over two days. The have to fly me out. I don't think that is going to be like a normal camp interview! I should be fun!

thats so awesome! camp is going to pay for your house all year??? our owners/directors have a house at camp and they give big houses to the higher-ups (they offered my mom one, but the houses are on boys side and she wanted to always be on girls, so she lives in her bedroom in the back of boys hq, haha) but they certainly don't live there all year. just in the summer. that's pretty cool though, campfriend! when do you start?
