yeah we're like 20 minutes...i know you're there too...i was gonna ask you if you guys go to the wayne on your nights out, to eat at 2 guys, or to skinners lol.

I think our camp prefers the Limerick (God only knows why!), but you've got to love 2 Guys and Skinners! We usually get a tube from Lou's Tubes and float down a bit... one year a life guard fell asleep on one, and had to paddle back for 90 mins to get back to us!

You've also got to the love the Route 6 Mall, with fun and games, the cinema and Baskin and Robbins!

Ok. How do I put this? Lol. I work at a camp that I guess falls a lot more under the rustic category than some of these - man! When I think of the programming I could accomplish with some of your resources. Lol. At the same time, I would trade our camp, staff, or programs for anything. But part of me thinks that this private camp with more resources thing might be interesting to experience at some point. (I'll probably never leave GS camp, but still. :))

haha flukie...each camp has its advantages, and everyone thinks theirs is the best but there's always something else a camp could get to add to it, so your feelings are normal. i know how you feel about wanting to stay at your camp of course, b/c i wouldn't want to go somewhere else!

and collissimon? the limerick? really? i've know that place but i didn't think that people from camps went there. we don't really go to the wayne either actually, we go to the view which is down the road from our camp. there used to be one night of camp a summer (the night color war ends) when everyone would go to the wayne, where almost all of the counselors are out and the judges stay in w/the campers. the counselors that were "in" color war would stay there, so that night is traditionally called "wayne night" for us now, but everyone goes to the view lol. when my camp goes to skinners, we pretty much think we own it and we get really posessive of this one rock that we call "the equinunk rock." it's a huge one that everyone can fit on on each day off (half of us have mondays off, and the other half has tuesdays). we never get tubes or anything, we just sit on the rock, jump in the water, cook out, listen to music, etc. it's really relaxing. what do you order at 2 guys? i always get a house salad (b/c i love their dressing and i get really excited for it, lol everyone makes fun of me) and then we usually share penne a la vodka and a pizza roll. it's soooo good. i used to think it was good only b/c it's camp, but i think it really is good. and we love going to movies (and falling asleep in the theater in most cases)/dunkin donuts/baskin robbins/mcdonalds/wendys/walmart lol that pretty much covers it. one night last summer me and my 4 friends hit every drive thru on that strip and couldn't stop laughing at how much we were ordering, haha. and where is the route 6 mall? when we want to shop we go to the mall in middletown or to woodbury commons.

I think Route 6 is the one with K-Mart, the Cinema etc... I can't remember though, I might be wrong!

I had a nice duck and pasta thing once, which was really nice, but I usually like stuff with bacon or ham in, because camp is a kosher camp, and when onsite I go veggie, and I get cravings!

I like to go to the Promised Land too, and flop down by the water with a CD Player and a Book! We usually take loads of snacks with us wherever we go, and sit on Summit Rock/s and eat loads of crap, cos Summit is also sugar-free, so we get a weeks worth of sugar in one day :D

ohhhh ok its just a shopping center yeah i think it is, i didn't know that was the name. what days does your camp have off? are there a couple of set days or are there a few staff off every day?

collissimon
12-16-2005, 05:14 PM
We have people off every day, though I don't really like having Fridays off, because that's when we have our show, or Thursday because that's when it's our trip! Is yours only monday and tuesday?

camper
12-16-2005, 05:22 PM
yeah, you're off either on monday or a tuesday...most of the waterfront staff is off on one day and everyone else is off on the other. there are a couple of exceptrions though, the waterfront director and assistant director aren't off w/the rest of the waterfront staff so that we can still have general swims on that day, and there are also those waterfront people who are close w/the land people, so they take off the other day too. it pretty much works out so that there is one counselor in each bunk on both of those days, and the CA's fill in the spaces.
