I just got my lifeguard recertification today. During the test i was talking with my instructor about a technique to backboard a victim who is wearing a life vest (not horseshoe). The red cross does not have any in any of the books we looked through. I was wondering does any one have any tested techniques or are willing to help figure one out? Over the past two summers myself and another lake guard have tried to figure one out but we have only gotten so far.

Wow, that is a very good question, and something I've never even thought about! I'm not waterfront staff, but I am a lifeguard - and we have definately never talked about this during training or tests.
