PLEASE NOTE BEFORE READING THIS THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT WAYS I WILL POST THE FEW I KNOW ARE USED OFTEN

This is part 1 of a multipart technique demonstrating the various ways to combat homesickness
Lets just assume that your camper already told you that they were home sick for the sake of this technique. Also for this technique we will assume that the camper is the type that misses the attention more then any other aspect of home. Give the child a little more attention, and have the other campers include them as much as possible. This should get the child’s mind off of home. It may be necessary to combine this technique with others that will be posted for maxium results.

I'd agree, but if it isn't then I would redirect negative home talk, so that they get used to the fact that they aren't going home, and that sometimes works...

I work at a day camp so I don't really have to deal with type of stuff, but it does sound like a great technique! :D

I guess it should be counted as great...being that that is the most often told way to handel homesick campers! :D and its amazing what talking to the campers can do! and if they are really homesick that they have almost made it through the week.
