How old is you camp?

What year was you camp established? My overnight camp that I used to work at was 1925. Last summer I got to go back for the 80 year celebration! My day camp that I am working for now is only 5 years old!

We opened in 1938 so I believe we are going on 68 years old

our boys camp is 86 years old and the girls camp is 83. we have signs all over boys side that say "camp equinunk, est. 1920" and on girls side that say "camp blue ridge, est. 1923" so no one ever forgets it!

my camp was established in the 1920's as 2 seperate camps one all boys and one all girls. They eventually became seperated by age rather than sex and 2 new camps were eventually added to the milford site.

I know the land for our camp was donated to 4-H in rather 1963 or 1964...I think that same year they started running camps there. i use to know more of the history (went through it at training) but i was so excited about being at camp...i kind of forgot some (fine a lot) of it! :laugh2:

The land was given to the Boy Scouts in 1956 and they gave it to the GS in 1958 - we we are celebrating 48 years of Girl Scout camp. (I bet the Boy Scouts are kicking themselves now looking at the land value!) :)

My camp was founded in 1949. So it's about 56 years old or so. Our brother camp, though, was founded in 1904 and had a big party right after camp with lots of alumni coming back for their hundreth anniversery in 2004.

My camp opened in 1927, and has gained lots more land and facilities since then!

we were started in 1954, so we are going on 52 seasons.

We celebrated the camp's 40th year this past summer. The camp, however, has had to relocate once during that time, but in total, it's operated for 40 years.
