Registration has been closed for the past few months, which might have helped to worsen the activity rates here. However, I recently re-opened registration. All new accounts are moderated, which means I must approve them manually before they gain access to the forums. Spammers use common patterns in registration, so it's usually easy to spot them.

One of the changes done to registration to combat spam is the addition of a required profile field. It is an open-ended question asking for any type of camp-related answer. If any members go to edit their profiles and have not filled out this field yet, you will be required to put an answer in.

Just put anything camp related. It can be a short camp story or you can just say "I am a camp counselor." Obviously, if you've been posting here, you're legitimate. So you can put whatever you want. Unfortunately there was no way to disable the field for members who have already registered, so everyone has to fill it in now. Sorry about that.

Thanks for working to reduce the awful spam and I really hope it works.

Not sure if you can do anything about it but I am still getting spam PMs :(

I get an email saying I have a PM and get all excited only to log on and discover it is spam!

You must now have 10 posts before you can use the PM system.
