POSITION DESCRIPTION
OUTSIDE GROUP/ADVENTURE EDUCATION DIRECTOR
SECTION I – Purpose/Scope of Job
1. To plan, execute, and evaluate multiple-use adventure education programs. (i.e. Project Reach and FFA)
2. To promote such a program toward growth in all areas
3. To plan and execute a marketing plan for Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum in conjunction with the Camp Director.
4. Assist in scheduling all Project Reach and Outside Group programming.
5. Assist in hosting all Project Reach and Outside Groups that attend Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum.
6. To assist in the planning and implementation of all summer and Fall FFA camping programs.
7. To assist in striving for the Ohio FFA Camps, Inc. "mission statement".
SECTION II – Duties and Responsibilities
1. Daily operation and program supervision of all Project Reach and FFA programming.
2. Employment, supervision, and training of all Project Reach and FFA program staff when needed.
3. Liaison between PR staff, FFA staff and Camp Muskingum staff and administration.
4. Oversight of curriculums and activity development in accordance with each program objective.
5. Develop, evaluate, and enforce program policies.
6. Promote program to ensure growth.
7. Assist Camp Director in developing and implementing the camp's marketing plan.
8. Assist Camp Director in scheduling and hosting all outside groups
9. Scheduling, contracting and billing of all Project Reach groups.
10. Manage all prepatory planning and arrangements for each Project Reach group.
11. Assume program responsibilities as contracted with other agencies/groups.
12. Research and help develop grant applications.
13. Implement special projects as received.
14. Maintain, develop and improve the ropes courses and adventure materials.
SECTION III – Employment Benefits
1. Salary paid semi-monthly on the 5th and 20th of each month.
2. Housing included
3. Single premium hospitalization with a portion paid by the employee.
4. Life Insurance policy
5. Dental Insurance policy
6. 1 ¼ sick days accumulated per month
7. Vacation leave as follows:
• 1 year or more – 2 weeks paid vacation
• 5 years or more – 3 weeks paid vacation
• 10 years or more – 4 weeks paid vacation
• Vacation leave shall be taken at times mutually agreed to by the camp director. Vacation leave shall not accumulate.
8. Retirement – Simple IRA with a camp match and Social Security
9. Two personal days per year with one days notice required to the camp director. Personal days shall not accumulate.
10. Insurance – Worker's Compensation
11. Bereavement Leave: Three days of bereavement leave with pay at regular rate upon the death of immediate family. Immediate family includes father, mother, son, daughter, spouse, sister, brother, in-laws.
12. Work hours: Arranged with the Camp Director – employee will work a five day week and if working on the weekend will take two days off during the week.
