Sounds fun Jenny! Keep us up dated on your adventures. At least you will be in the USA - This summer it is me that wont be at camp and I miss it already - not sure how I am going to manage from now until 2010 - I guess I will have to go to loads of guide camps.

Why you not going in 2009 Smudge?I won't be going in 2010 because of the Guide's centenary!

Cos mum had a stroke while I was travelling! So this year at least I will be needed at home to be her carer. Still undecided about 2010 cos of the centenary and also cos I dont know how mum will be then. I really wanna go back to GS camp for 2012 when they celebrate their centenary.

Sorry about your mum Smudge, I didn't know.
It's my camp's 50th anniversary in 2009. I don't know how that will be marked/celebrated.

Thanks Laura - she comes home from rehab on Wednesday which I am looking forward to.
I am sure it will be celebrated - every camp I have worked at has celebrated major aniversaries - and 50 years a big one. My first year at Chenoa we had a big day to celebrate its sweet 16 and the year before they had an even bigger celebration for its 15th and last year its sister camp had a big celebration of the camps 100th aniversary (not all that time as a GS camp though).
