Does your camp gather input from their staff at the end of the summer? What sort of questions do they ask? I'm curious about what other camps do.

Our camp does collect feedback, but it is mainly a self evaluation form that requires indentifying yourself. I would prefer an anonymous form that allows for honest feedback.

We do not... My camp really emphasizes and encourages any comments, critisisms, or problems to be addressed immediately. Why would you wait to suggest a change until the end of the summer, when you could say it at the time, and have it changed by next week! We're a tight-knit camp, and discuss challenges and changes constantly, which I think is important and connected closely to why my camp is so awesome.

Regarding feedback on staff... Each Senior counselor writes their 4-6 counselors an eval at the end of the first 2 10-day sessions. You then get a final one at the end of your contract, from the head counselor. It's a way to praise, and to mention improvements, and things that could be worked on. They are to be written so that nothing on one's eval is a surprise. Anything "needs improvement" should have been addressed before the eval, in order to have given them a chance to improve. The system works well, IMO.

We had weekly evals that we did, and then we had an exit interview.... the exit interview was nice and helped not only camp, but the staff as well

We had weekly evals that all staff filled in. We also had mid season evals which were verbal appraisals of how well staff were doing which also gave people a chance to talk about any issues they had. We were also incouraged at the end of every week to talk about problems at the staff meeting. We didnt really do anything extra at the end of camp.

We had weekly staff meetings where things that needed to be improved were addressed on both sides.
