I was jsut wondering if anyone else felt the same way I do. See I love my camp and I really want to go back, but then another part of me wants to try a new camp! Like I was looking up Campers's camp -Blue Ridge- on the internet and it looks amazing and part of me wants to try working at a camp like that. I love my cmap so much and I really love the people there and I love all of our traditions, but I also love trying new things! Anyone else had this feeling? Any suggestions? Thanks, Bubbles

It a lot of fun to get the experience at a lot of different camp. Also pending on what you are going to do when you get out of school it can only help. I would say get as much different experience as you can. Good luck. Sometimes it hard to leave a place you know. I spent 19 years at my old camp. I love my new one.

haha cool that you looked at my camp!!! i think that feeling is different for everyone, i know that i've never had it haha but we've had counselors at our camp that came from a different one and liked it for different reasons. nothing will ever replace your first camp, but if you do decide you want to try something new and apply to my camp, go for it! you can do it online haha good luck w/whatever you decide.

I feel the same way you do skater! I also looked at other camps online ( actually that one!) I talked to my director about it and she was all for me "expanding my horizions"
I love camp and I knew there was one out there for me, but looking at other camps, i think that my camp is the one for me, at least this year. It is important to remember that every year at camp is different, and it will provide you with new and different experiences.

For 2006 summer I am returning. But 2007 summer I want to experience another camp. I think it is good to explore new camps.

I'm still going to work at my camp, but after reading everyone's posts about overnight camp it makes me want to try one of those. But it would be hard for me to leave my camp for another.

I am glad to know I am not alone in my thoughts!! I am still trying to decide whether to try a new camp or not. It really all depends because last summer i told my director that we really should start a Skateboarding program at our camp and I would come up with it and teach it and everything. Well he sent me an email telling me that they are trying to fit it into the budget this year so we might have a skate program!! If the program does go through I have to go back to my camp and teach it becuase I am the one who pushed for it to happen and I promised I would run it! If it does not go through then I will probably expand my experince by trying another camp. And if that's the case I will be PMing you camper to learn some more about your camp and ask you some questions!!

I've worked at 3 different camps in 3 different summers - and it was a GREAT experience. Two were overnight and one was day. However, I'll be the first to say I'm returning this year to the camp I was at last summer - I was Ad-Staff last summer and I will be again this summer. (They keep asking when I'll be 25 - and I keep saying that it hasn't changed since the last time they asked! Lol.) But I'm glad I've had the other experiences as well.

I am kind of in your position Bubbles. I have worked at different camps each year 3 out of the 4 has been with the GS council in my area and one that I was in while I was a GS. I am thinking about trying a different camp setting because as much as I enjoy working at GS camps my council has done some horrible things to make the camps not what they should be and it's hard to continue working there year after year and not being able to do much to keep camps alive. So I am looking into something different for this summer to see if it is better than my experiance so far with GS camps.

I hope you figure something out that you will enjoy.
