Hi everyone! Things have been picking up a bit here in the past few days, which is good. I have a major announcement for everyone here at Talk Camp.
Talk Camp is currently in the beginning stages of merging with the website Ultimate Camp Resource (http://www.ultimatecampresource.com). In the coming weeks, the transition will be made to our new website. All information, including posts, member information, etc. will remain intact during and after the transition. The merge will simply bring these two great resources together to create one huge resource for camp staff.
In the days ahead, there might be downtime, and even notices that the forums are closed. There is no need to worry about this. I will be closing the forums so no new members and/or posts are lost in the move. Further announcements will be made when these changes occur.
Some more information:
- All Talk Camp staff will remain the same. The only difference in the staff setup will be the addition of the UCR staff. However, the staff system might be reworked. In addition, if growth is substantial, the staff count will grow as well. More on this when the sites are merged.
- As of right now, the forum layout will remain the same. The style will change to fit the feel of UCR, new features might be introduced as well. A software upgrade of the forums will take place in the coming weeks as well. Whether this happens before or after the move to our new site is still undetermined. This is based on when the software company releases the new version.
- Our hope is that the UCR mailing list members (they don't currently have forums) will join the forums. This will increase the member base, and might increase the staff count as well.
I will keep everyone updated as decisions are made. If you have any questions or comments, please post them in this thread.
