I think most people by now are back from camp and getting back into the normal (define normal?!) way of life again.
I was wondering what you all miss most about camp and camp life?
Apart from my boyfriend and some the the really close friends I made at camp, I miss the structure and routine of camp. Sometimes I find myself wandering around wondering what to do and feeling that there is something I should be doing or somewhere i should be.

I miss being around the campers, i miss my friends and I miss being able to sing crazy songs without people looking at me like I was crazy. I miss being able to swim to the rock and getting to teach random stuff - both things I have done before and new things - and learning new things like how to make felt. Strangley I miss walmart - asda just isn't the same. I miss being called by my camp name. Talking of camp names what did you settle on for your camp name?
And I am having major probs getting back into the habit of talk about money in terms of pounds and pence not dollars and cents.
I think mostly I miss being around people who understand the whole camp thing and why I love it soo much. But forums really help with that one.
I'm really home (camp) sick...
I've been having a hard time in school. And most of all, i cant do things... About 2 weeks after I came back from Camp, I had to get surgery on both knees. Since then I havent been able to run or do things that I normally could. I used to be really active. I lost all my leg muscles... and I think back to camp and the WHOLE time i was either Backpacking, hiking, Biking, or runnin around like a fool. Its been hard.
There are more stresses on life. And this is the part of the year id call Camp withdraw. haha EXTREME camp sickness...

I am sorry that you are having such a tough time at the moment. There is nothing worse that Knee pain but in time it will get better and you will be back doing what you normally do. Do you have any creative hobbies that you can do while you are recovering from your op to fill the time - that is what I did. When I was recovering from eye surgery which took 3 months cos of complications I learned how to crochet cos it didn't involve the close work that X-stitch and reading did. Or maybe you could revamp your existing or make a new camp song book.

Sorry to hear about your knee problems Ave. I have broken both my knees (when I say broke I mean snapped ligament, damaged tendons, cartilage, broken and chipped bones and crushed femur) and have had surgery on them so can totally empathise with you.
Smudge: My camp name was voted on by the rest of the staff and they picked Ta-dah because I like the Scissor Sisters and that is the name of their second album.

I liked the name at camp but now when someone is showing off/competed something/made something or performing a magic trick I think they are talking to me!

I can see how that would be a problem. I was named after one of the dogs I had - i choose it cos among other things I had taken pics of the dog to camp but none of my family. Every time the dogs name was called I would do a double take especially in the few weeks between getting back from camp and heading back to uni.

Hey! not been posting recently as job hunting!
I miss friends, campers and the camp itself. Miss the routines and feeling needed and busyness etc lol loads I miss!
I won't be going back for the whole of next summer anymore I just decided though if I can afford I would like to go visit!
Im no longer with my boyfriend, too many differences and he couldn't handle long distance anymore!
Life moves on though :)

Sorry to hear about your boyfriend - yes life does go on - knowing that doesn't always make things easier though does it.
Job hunting is a pain isn't it. I am doing that too - so far have had only one interview since I got home and i didnt get the job. Oh well one will turn up, just have to keep looking.

I do not miss camp. I found a job that lets me be at camp all year round. Fun fun fun.
