Position Wanted

Hey,

New to this site but saw this topic and thought it might be worth posting. I am currently looking for a position although have a problem as because of work commitments (teacher in the UK) I am not available until mid July. Have worked on summer camps in USA, Australia, England and Russia over the last few years as well as working in a variety of other youth roles. Was last on summer camp in the USA 3 years ago before I went into teaching, and really miss it. Does anybody know of any camps that take staff on only for the latter part of the summer. Would be interested in any reply.

Hey Ben! Welcome to the site :) . One of the counselors in my bunk this past summer was only there for the first half of the summer. If you're interested in working at a Jewish-based day camp in New Jersey, you could try the JCC Camps in Medford (http://www.katzjcc.org/camps/homepage.asp). Just send them an e-mail describing your request. :)

Also, you could try CCUSA, ICCP or camp america. The help staff find camp and get visas and all of that fun stuff!!

Yeah my camp is pretty flexible when it comes to staff who have previous commitments. especially if they have past camp experience (because they should be good counselors if they keep being rehired). they normally hire international staff via CCUSA and im not completely sure how it all works. anyways its an overnight 4-H camp and ends around the beginning of august so i dont know how many weeks you would work. however they do have a day camp that runs 2 weeks longer than the overnight camp.
