I have done that in the past.

One year my group went on a trip but I was "needed" on camp (personally I think they were worried i would do something stupid like have an asthma attack) so I stayed in the lodge cos my unit was out on the edge of camp and didnt want to stay there alone. Anyway the bottom bunks felt really dark and i dont do top bunks so put a mattress on the floor!

Oh man one time I had to stay in a cabin alone because I had my own unit of 6 and the cabins we were staying in slept 6 so there wasn't really a way around it. They weren't the cabins close to everyone else either they were the ones all by themselves right next to the fence line. It was a good thing that was one of my favorite weeks ever because those girls made it worth it!

I spent nearly an entire summer living alone - on the edge of camp - but it twas different that summer there was another cabin across the road and down a bit - but the cabin I lived in I was in alone and all the deer seemed to hang out outside it at night so I would freak out everytime I heard twigds breaking! But I just listened to music at night! That summer I used the top bunk to store all my stuff! - and used the mattress so that I had a thicker mattress!

I like sleeping on the top bunk because the bottom makes me feel sort of claustophobic. When I was a CIT we slept in a loft that overhung the art room. I took the top bunk at the edge so there were several mornings I woke up pressed against the safety rail looking down thirty feet. It was fun. The bottom bunk is more convenient though you can get down fast and you have some storage space under the bed.

At camp I used the bottom bunk to sleep in and used the top bunk for my clothes. Man it was a mess! when a stomach virus swept through our camp the only people that were left was half of my cabin so thats what we were able to do only with seven other bunks!!
