camp in alaska

I'm working at camp togowoods in alaska this summer. has anyone worked that far north? what special items do i need to bring? and what kinds of luggage/bags do you use?

I have not worked that far north - however, I have heard the mosquitos are as big as birds up there.

I have family in Alaska, Dont know them though. welcome to the site!

My dad lived in Alaska when his dad was in the coast guard. I think it was one of his favorite places to live. I can't tell you more than that. Oh, and also parts of the year they only have a few hours of night and other parts where they only have a few hours of light. I can't remember which happens in summer.

Be prepared to pay more for some essentials and any food you buy on your days off, because of the remoteness of the state.
