Ok so not sure if im posting this in right section or not but I am with Camp America and paid for the summers medical insurance and then was told it didn't cover pre-existing conditions such as my mild asthma and hayfever!
There was a link on the CA forum suggesting cheap insurances that docover it but when I looked these up I found tem alot more expensive than they said!
Was wondering if anyone could help me out because Im not getting response from CA folk and I know how friendly Talk camp folk are :D
Links would be great if u find/ have anything!

Thanks!

I have never topped up my CA insurance - and have never needed to go to hospital for my asthma while at camp. I basically feel that my asthma is so mild that I can not justify spending over a £100 just incase. Now if clumsyness was a pre-existing medical condition then I would cos I am always injurying myself in stupid ways (but luckily its not)

Don't really know much about insurance but if you are contacting CA e-mail I suggest you phone them. Camp Leaders are not brilliant at answering e-mails but are very helpful and give me the answers I want when I call them.

I haven't topped up my medical insurance either, but then last year it covered my pre-existing medical conditions. I will have a look around though as im not sure it does this year. If i find anything I will let you know

Who was did you go to camp with last year cos CA has never covered pre-existing conditions - it is just that this year is the first year they have sent out the disclaimer thing (I think that they may have had probs with people not reading the insurance policy properly)

I have found that if I am getting Wheezy i use my inhaler but i also do some drama breathing excercises as they force you to concentrate on regular breathing rahter than getting stressed cos you can't breath properly.

I went with CCUSA - im sure i read stuff that it covered pre-existing med conditions providing the problem wasnt there when you went - e.g. if you travelled during an asthma attack it wouldnt cover you when you were there for treatment for that asthma attack. I really should get more insurance though as I have a food allergy as well
