I'm a new Food Service Director for a medium-sized camp in East Texas and am looking to install some new kitchen software for inventory, food ordering, menu-planning, etc.

I have not found any specific programs that look like they would work, so I was wondering if any of you know of a good program or would be willing to share about what you use at your camps!

Thanks so much for any info that you are willing to give.
Kate

Sorry, but I have no clue! We do not use software in the kitchen!

Cool idea, though!

You should check with who you get your food from. They should have a program that you can use..

I use an Excel spreadsheet that I developed, primarily for inventory management. It's a hybrid of spreadsheets that I found on the Internet and those I've developed my self. It works well for a camp that meets one-week each year. It may be a bit cumbersome for a summer-long program.

You could try using Filemaker. It takes a little time to learn to use but you can create really sophisticated databases with it without having to know programming.
