Insurance?

I just got all my paper work for camp, and there is one thing that might be a problem for me. One of the things it says to bring with you to camp is your medical insurance card. Well, being a middle-class American student, of course I don't have any medical insurance! :( The camp does have an accident insurance policy that covers counselors (as I understand it), but is it possible for them to require me to have some sort of medical insurance??

PS - the camp is in California, if that makes a difference

It all depends on the camp.. I would call the office and see what they can do to help you out. I know we have had counselors in the past who have extre money incase the have to go to the doctor!~

Could you maybe take out holiday/travel insurance to cover your time at camp?
