Hi guys and girls
Just letting you know that I got a FIIIIINE email in my inbox this evening telling me my acceptance package is on the way and therefore have been accepted onto the programme.
Yahoo!
Im very excited now and can now officially say "im going to america this summer" rather than me saying "its likely i'll be in america" so wahoo.
I look forward to the time when i can find out which camp im placed at and can come on here and bombard the place with questions about the camp.
Hopefully I'll be able to find someone who knows a bit about it.
Talk to you soon!!!
Chris

Hey guys,
just thought I'd post becuase its nearly april and i've still not been placed.
Should i be worried or are there other people like me?! My availability dates are as soon as the first flight out goes so i cant think that its that.
i've done everything except my visa interview which is in 2 weeks and my police check has been sent off but they say it takes 4-5 weeks for that to be returned with the results but again, it seems other people have placements before their police check is complete.
Any ideas?

...an dont worry my first summer i got hired end of april early may.
Oh thats pretty late I guess. Any idea what the sorta time frame between being placed and then being at camp?!
Also does anyone think that becuase my specialist activities are Music and Guitar that this might be why they might be having a bit of trouble placing me?

That I dont really know..seeing as i live in the states but yeah i was debating between 2 camps an then both jobs got filled...so i had to go back though my camp list....I wouldn't worry about the Music Guitar specialty. I know of plenty of camps that have music programs...mine for instance is an arts orriented camp, but we also have the sports an waterfront stuff..horses...ect...We have at least a couple people who teach guitar lessons

If you are really worried that this may be hindering your chances of being placed, you could contact CCUSA and say that you would also consider a more general post. You could also alter your profile/online application to say you are looking for a general position but are interested in music, specifically guitar.

I've not specifically said "I want a specialist placement".
Just in the process of applying you're asked what you'd be able to teach.
So theres actually no option to say what position I'd like.
