Just wondering what y'alls LEAST favorite camp activities are.
My absolute LEAST favorite is probably fishing. It's so boring!
I'm not a big fan of archery, either.
I'm actually a fan of fishing, when I actually get to fish! I admit it is kind of boring when we just have to watch the kids... I used to never be a big fan of nature until last summer. Last summer, there was a new specialist who took the kids on nature walks and taught us about different plants and animals on the walks. I actually found it interesting and I learned a lot of stuff from him that I still remember today! He also got the kids into the learning. So much so that the kids actually looked forward to nature!
monk man suitcase...... kids end up with missing stuff all the time and the cabin gets sooo messy.
also most land skill periods... ha

I have no patience whatsoever for crafts. Usually I try to substitute outdoor skills instead, under the guise of something crafty-- like making wax firestarters or lashing. Boondoggle in particular drives me nuts-- the kids lose half of the lanyards they start!
I'm not a huge fan of sports, either. I can just about muster a game of frisbee golf or kickball, and that's the extent of my athletic knowledge.

Worst activity in camp? DOes staff meeting/unit meeting/ cabin meeting time count??? Otherwise, i don't think I have one. I really like everything. Nap time is by far the best though :)

knots, knife safety and first aid were especially boring to me and the kids in my unit this summer. Also, I hate it when we have to do lame crafts because it's "part of the program." There's too many awesome crafts out there that can be done for SUPER cheap, but if it's not part of the program, then forget it. I hate that. Maybe it's 'cause I'm such a craft lady.
Also, I hated meal times because they were chaotic, unorganized, and often disasterous.

Play practice. My boys hated it!!! but with a passion. What ever they hated I would hate aswell. They would rather get in trouble than practice. It was understandable. It was done in an old playhouse, indoors with no air-cond, usually for 2 periods. I also hated rainy days Bingo. Too boring.

Orienteering. Ugh

Almost forgot about that. The kids had the option of peforming in the plays the camp put together, but there was an activity also which everyone had to do. The kids hated drama. They hated having to act things out and dress up. They were more interested in doing the wrong things with the costumes/masks... Ugh.

I hated Speed Stacks, it's basically plastic cups that you stack in a pattern. There are cool games you can play with them but all the girls ever want to do is make giant pyramids with them. I also hate knots... a lot. I can't really do them myself very well and trying to teach them to elementary schoolers is torture.

Hmm... I hate meal times. I find them too chaotic for my liking. And that's not even with them being OVERLY chaotic.

Closing day, the stress of trying to get everything together and cleaned up kind of ruins it.

Yea, I agree with all of you.
Closing day is no fun.
Knots and Knife safety is just plain boring.
But I do like orienteering and first aid, though!

My least favorite activity would have to be fishing. There just aren't many fish in our lake, so the campers hardly ever catch anything. Also, we only fish with the younger campers, so its hard to keep them interested in watching their lines! But, I have to admit, when they do catch something their excitement is worth it.

Oh, dear, tigerfan. We have the exactly opposite problem in our lake. We have thousands of sunfish and small-mouth bass (I think) around both our swimming and boating docks, and they're a complete bloody nuissance.
Have you tried fishing using nets? It's a little easier and more interesting than using poles-- we only bust out the fishing poles for older campers, usually for badgework. The fish eventually learn to chill by where we drop bait, so it's not too bad.

Closing day. Also, the very first meal of the session is chaotic because the kids haven't learned the way meal time works. It's usually fairly stressful for both the counselors and campers. The dining hall just gets so loud and people end up yelling at one another just to be heard.

I hate that I'm the last one to go to bed and the first one to wake up...
In camp I usually can't sleep more than 5 hours which is quite short compared to my 9-10 hours in college season: )
Concerning activities I'm not a big fan of discos, because 1. I can't dance 2. younger campers get bored 3. older campers always complain about the music

i think softball might actually win at my camp...i know it seems unlikely but especially on hot days up there on that field the kids just don't get into it, even the good softball players, and you have to keep track of the kids on the hitting team on the benches while also making sure the girls in the field are doing what they're supposed to do...if i'm going to be running a softball activity i like to have the softball counselor there to actually do the instruction part.

I'm not a big fan of sports in general, except that we do usually get sno cones afterwards, and now and then it's fun. Other than that, I pretty much love everything. I used to hate going to the lake to canoe, but it's actually really peaceful there, and I enjoy it. Hmm... And a few of our all-camp programs get old, but I don't have to go to many with my campers (they're usually at the barn when the rest of camp's doing those things), so I don't have to sit through the millionth crazy beauty pageant or talent show.

I'm not a fan of fishing, mostly because our fish always seems to prick me when trying to get them off the line, because my campers only want to catch them and don't know how to free them. All the other activities I pretty much lead so they become a lot of fun. I guess ropes course is boring too, cause its the same thing each week to build team building, but the counselors are suppose to sit out and just watch...real fun...but like my camp says its for the kids and kids matter.
